11/5/2022 0 Comments Video meme creatorNo custom sort titles were changed or backgrounds that I've noticed yet. YMMV, but when I did this on a library of 667, with mostly custom set posters, it only changed about 4 of them back to the default. It can take a long time and might remove any custom metadata you have changed (titles, summaries, posters, etc). It removes all metadata and redownloads everything. WARNING: If you don't like the automatic collections, the only way to get rid of them is to manually remove them from each movie, as described above, or possibly using a script and the API. #Video meme creator fullDo this for the other two, and you'll end up in order, both for Collections and in your full library. Erase the default Sort Title, and enter the respective new one, then save. If we change the sort title to Die Hard 4 and Die Hard 5, on their respective movies, it will throw 3 out of place, so must change 3, 4, & 5. No need to change the first 2, they are already numbered. Die Hard, Die Hard 2, and Die Hard: With a Vengeance. Since the first 3 are correct order, check how they are named. Q: Why can't it then? A: It sorts alphabetically based on the "Sort Title". Would you like to go for double jeopardy where the scores can really change? Q: Plex can do this on it's own though right? Doesn't it know how? A: Sorry, Hans. Take a look at Die Hard, the fuck McClane! You'll notice, even when viewing your entire library, they are out of order. Q: My movies are in a collection, but when I view the collection, they are out of order? What gives? A: Even when viewing collections, they are still sorted according to their "Sort Title". Lots of possibilities, start making those feature requests! #Video meme creator movieIt would be nice for when filtering multiple Collections, or even including the Collection poster with all the other movie posters while browsing your entire library. Q: Can I have a collection show up as one single poster rather than each movie individually? A: At the moment No. Going forward, when new movies are added, Plex will continue to pull the Collection Tags from TheMovieDB when it pulls the rest of the Metadata. You can add as many Collection tags as you wish. You can do this same process to change tags you don't like to your own custom ones, or remove completely for ones you don't want Collection tags for. When you select the Alien tag, all 6 should appear, and the AVP collection is gone. Each one has to be deleted individually, unlike when we added. #Video meme creator seriesOnce this is done, repeat for AVP: Requiem (or whatever series you're working on). From here, click the 'x' next to AVP to delete, and then save changes. Click the "Tags" tab on the left, and you will see your Collections at the bottom. If you want to remove the AVP collection completely, select the edit icon on one of the AVP movies. Now these 2 are included in 2 collections. That reminds me, should probably do this for Prometheus too. Now when you select only the Alien tag, all 6 should appear. In the popup window, find the desired collection, Alien in this case, select it and save. With them selected, click on the 3 dots, and then "Add to Collection". To do this, select the AVP collection, then the select icon and click on both movies. You could either select both collections to display them both, but personally, I'd rather have them all in a single "Alien" collection. As you can see, it will put them in separate collections. And here I thought Christmas only came onces a year.ĭon't like a collection tag or want to combine a few? Also simple. Scroll to find the "James Bond" collection, and voilà! Plex quickly displays every single bond film in your library to go through. In your Movie Library, select "New Filter", then "Collection". In the mood for a Bond film but can't remember the exact title? Simple. Why do this you ask? With collection tags, it makes it easy to navigate your library. It will pull collection info from TheMovieDB, if available, and add it to the collection tags of movies. That's it! Now, depending on the size of your library, this can take some time to process. *** see warning below about "Refresh All"*** Go into your Movie Library, click the gear to the upper right, and select "Refresh All". Make sure "Plex Movie" is above "Local Media Assets", then click on the gear on the "Plex Movie" line.Ĭheck the box next to "Use collection info from The Movie Database", then save. In the "Movies" tab, select "Plex Movie" in the middle. Next, navigate to your server settings > Agents ("The Movie Database" agent also works, see edit at bottom) Navigate to your Movie Library Advanced settings, and make sure your agent is "Plex Movie". How, you ask? Quite simply believe it or not. Plex can automatically add "Collection" tags to movies. Some of you may already know this, but some may not as this feature is disabled by default.
